Google Shopping feed for the Netherlands

The Netherlands is a compact, high-expectation Shopping market: Dutch shoppers compare offers closely, shipping cost is required in the feed, and the same Dutch product data can reach Flemish shoppers in Belgium with a second feed. Here is what Merchant Center requires when the target country is the Netherlands, where it differs from Germany and the UK, and how to run the Dutch feed, a Belgian feed and a comparison site from one catalog.

We connect your store, build the feed and keep it in sync. Updated 2026-10-27.

At a glance

  • Currency EUR with VAT included. Dutch is a supported feed language; the landing page must be in the same language as the product data.
  • Shipping cost is required for the Netherlands (and Belgium), in Merchant Center settings or the shipping attribute. Shopping ads in both countries are placed through a Comparison Shopping Service.
  • multipack and is_bundle are required in the Netherlands when they apply, and EU rules add unit pricing and EPREL energy labels. Unlike Germany and the UK, apparel attributes are not on the required list for Dutch targets, except for free listings in Apparel & Accessories.
  • Textfinity translates into Dutch with a reviewed AI config, runs on EU infrastructure, publishes separate NL and BE feeds from one shop and builds a Beslist CSV as a custom feed.

Dutch language, and Belgium from the same feed data

Google accepts product data in any supported language, Dutch and English included, as long as the landing pages are in the same language; products can be disapproved when most of the data does not match the data source language. A Dutch storefront needs Dutch titles and descriptions, and Dutch compound words fill Google's 150-character title limit quickly, so put the product type and the deciding attribute first.

Flemish-speaking Belgium reads the same Dutch text, uses euros, and is also on Google's list of countries where shipping cost is required. It still needs its own feed: a separate Merchant Center data source with feed label BE (up to 20 characters, set at creation), Belgian shipping costs and links to the Belgian storefront if prices differ. The Dutch text, from your store or from an AI config, is reused unchanged.

Where the Netherlands differs from Germany and the UK

  • Apparel: Germany and the UK require age_group, gender, color and size for clothing; the Netherlands does not, unless you use free listings in Apparel & Accessories. Mapping them anyway costs little and keeps one apparel set-up for all three.
  • Multipacks and bundles: required in all three countries when they apply.
  • Energy labels: the Netherlands and Germany use certification with an EPREL code; the UK can also use energy_efficiency_class for products not sold in the EU.
  • Shipping: required in all three. Sweden, by contrast, is not on Google's required list.

Comparison sites and how many feeds you need

Beslist.nl is the comparison site Dutch merchants ask about most. Textfinity has no Beslist template; it builds a custom feed with the columns Beslist's merchant documentation lists and publishes it as a CSV on a stable URL. Kelkoo, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads, Pinterest Ads and TikTok Ads have templates.

A typical Dutch set-up is two Google feeds from one shop (NL and BE), one custom feed per comparison site such as Beslist, and AI configs when the source text is in another language. We set all of it up in Textfinity for you, and it is quoted per catalog after a short call, based on the catalog's size and the feeds it needs.

Examples

Worked examples, by situation

Four stores selling into the Netherlands, each with a different starting point.

German furniture store · Google Shopping NL · 700 SKUs, German copy

Dutch titles from a German catalog

Before

title: Esstisch Eiche massiv 180 cm, geölt

After

title: Eettafel massief eiken 180 cm, geolied

How we set it up

We set up an AI config that translates the title into Dutch, reading the German title and material; title uses replace from AI config with Title as fallback. Accept the generations before launch: filters cannot test acceptance, so until then the fallback sends the German title. To hold German text back instead, give the rule the condition is accepted in AI config and leave the title empty otherwise.

Fashion · Netherlands and Belgium · 1,200 SKUs, Dutch storefront

Two feeds, one Dutch text

Feeds

Feed NL: feed label NL, shipping NL:::4.95 EUR
Feed BE: feed label BE, shipping BE:::6.95 EUR
Shared: Dutch title, description, color, size

How we set it up

We build two Google Shopping feeds from the same shop, set shipping as a static value per feed, and map link with add prefix to the Belgian storefront URL in the BE feed.

Pet food · Google Shopping NL · 250 SKUs

Unit price per kilo and multipacks

Before

title: Kattenvoer zalm 85 g, 12 stuks
weight: 85 g
pack_count: 12

After

multipack: 12
unit_pricing_measure: 1020g
unit_pricing_base_measure: 1kg

How we set it up

We map multipack with replace from regexp ^.*?(\d+) stuks.*$ → \1, unit_pricing_measure as an advanced expression, round(calc{[weight] * [pack_count]}, 0) + "g" (round drops the .0 that calc leaves), and unit_pricing_base_measure as a static value 1kg.

Electronics · Google Shopping NL and Beslist · 900 SKUs

Beslist as a custom feed

Before

One Google feed with EAN, brand, price, stock

After

Second feed: Beslist's column names, same source fields, CSV URL

How we set it up

We build a custom feed and rename each Beslist column from the same source fields used in the Google feed, with an exclude filter if [stock] is less than 1. The feed URL is then registered in your Beslist account.

Customization tips

Make it yours

Keep Belgium separate even when prices match

One feed targeting both countries is possible, but shipping costs, returns and links usually differ. A second feed is one more set of rules and keeps each country's ads accurate.

Map apparel attributes anyway

They are not required for Dutch targets, but they are for Germany and the UK and for free listings. One apparel mapping for every country saves rework when you expand.

Translate titles first, descriptions second

Titles drive matching and clicks; descriptions are read less. If AI budget is tight, run the title config across the catalog and descriptions only for top sellers.

FAQ

Questions about google shopping feed netherlands

Does a Google Shopping feed for the Netherlands need to be in Dutch?

It needs to match the landing page. Google accepts any supported language, including English, but if the storefront is in Dutch the product data should be in Dutch, or products may be disapproved for a language mismatch.

Is shipping required in a Dutch Google Shopping feed?

Yes. The Netherlands is one of 21 countries where shipping cost is required for Shopping ads and free listings. Set it in Merchant Center shipping settings or with the shipping attribute.

Can I use the same feed for the Netherlands and Belgium?

The Dutch text can be shared, but give Belgium its own feed with feed label BE, Belgian shipping costs and Belgian links. Both countries use euros and both require shipping cost.

Do I need a CSS in the Netherlands?

Shopping ads in the Netherlands are placed by Comparison Shopping Services. Google Shopping is one of them, and you can choose another or several; the product data and policies do not change.
