Google Shopping feed apps for Shopify

Shopify's own Google & YouTube app pushes your products to Merchant Center for free, so the question is not which app is best but whether you need one at all, and if so for which job: feed rules, extra channels, Merchant Center error fixing or AI copy. This guide sets out the criteria, the prices and ratings we loaded from each listing today, and where Textfinity does and does not belong in the list.

We connect your store, build the feed and keep it in sync. Updated 2026-10-27.

At a glance

  • Start with the native Google & YouTube app (free to install, 4.5 from 5,559 reviews). Add a feed tool only when you need rules, filters, custom labels, more channels or AI copy.
  • Verified on 2026-10-27: Simprosys from $4.99/mo for 500 products with a 21-day trial (4.9, 4,943 reviews); Nabu free to 100 products, Grow $39.90/mo (4.7, 539 reviews); DataFeedWatch Shop $64/mo for 1,000 SKUs, 15-day trial (4.7, 338 reviews).
  • Textfinity connects to Shopify natively and runs outside the Shopify admin; we set the feeds up in it for you and quote per catalog. Merchant Center fetches its feed URL on a schedule.
  • Textfinity does not import Merchant Center errors; Simprosys and Nabu advertise error validation. If fixing disapprovals inside the app is the job, pick one of those.

Do you need a Google Shopping feed app for Shopify at all?

The Google & YouTube app by Shopify syncs products, deals and shipping to Merchant Center at no charge and is the right first step for a store with clean product data and one country. Its 4.5 rating from 5,559 reviews on the App Store includes 12% one-star reviews, and the complaints cluster around sync behavior you cannot adjust. That is the limit of the native app: it sends your Shopify fields as they are, with Shopify's title as the Google title and Shopify's product type as product_type.

You outgrow it the day you want a title that reads 'Brand Product Color Size' instead of the storefront title, a feed with sale items excluded, custom labels for a Performance Max campaign, a second feed for Meta or TikTok Shop, or a German feed for Shopify Markets. All of those are feed rules, and feed rules are what the paid apps sell. Decide which of those jobs you have before comparing apps; the best app for error fixing is not the best app for multi-channel output.

Six criteria for choosing a Google Shopping feed tool for Shopify

Score each candidate on these six. The last column is what Textfinity does, stated plainly so you can rule it in or out quickly.

What each app costs and what the listings claim

The comparison table at the bottom of this page holds only figures we loaded from the Shopify App Store listings or the vendor's own site on 2026-10-27. Two things are worth calling out. Simprosys prices by product count and bills XML feed usage and additional market feeds separately, so a store with 1,200 products and five country feeds pays the $13.99 tier plus per-feed charges. Nabu's Explorer plan is free to install but bills $19.99 a month once a store passes ten orders a month, which makes it a trial rather than a free tier for any active store.

DataFeedWatch is the only one of the three that is also a full multi-channel feed platform outside Shopify; its Shop plan at $64 a month covers 1,000 SKUs, three feeds and one daily update. The ranking articles for this keyword quote older prices for all three (one lists Simprosys as free then $9.99 and DataFeedWatch from $59.99), which is why we fetched the listings rather than repeating them.

Where Textfinity fits among Shopify feed apps

Textfinity is not an app you install from the Shopify admin. It pulls products, variants, metafields, markets and locales through its native Shopify connection, and the feeds are built in Textfinity rather than in the admin. That matters in two ways. We found no App Store rating to weigh it by, and the work happens outside your admin; in practice we set the feeds up in Textfinity for you, so your team mostly sees the result in Merchant Center. In exchange you get the same rules engine for every channel, feed URLs that Merchant Center and Meta Commerce Manager fetch on a schedule, EU processing, and a price quoted per catalog rather than per app tier.

The honest placement: pick Textfinity when the job is rules, multi-channel output, AI titles or translation, and you would rather have the feeds set up for you than configure an app yourself. Pick Simprosys or Nabu when the job is seeing Merchant Center disapprovals and fixing them inside the app, because Textfinity cannot read diagnostics from Merchant Center. Pick DataFeedWatch when you need a large agency setup with 150 feeds. Stay on the native app when your data is already clean and you sell in one country.

How Shopify fields map to Google in each approach

The native app maps Shopify's Title to title, Description to description, Vendor to brand, Product category to google_product_category and the Google Shopping metafield columns (Gender, Age Group, MPN, Condition, Custom Label 0-4) to their attributes. A feed tool lets you override each of those with a rule. The snippet shows the three overrides most Shopify stores write first.

Three mapping rules a feed app adds on top of the native sync

title ← advanced: [product_vendor] + " " + [product_title] + " " + [variant_color]
brand ← replace from regexp on vendor: "(?i)^nike inc\.?$" → "Nike"
availability ← advanced: if calc{[variant_inventoryQuantity]} > 0 then "in_stock" else "out_of_stock"

Worked examples, by situation

Three Shopify stores, three different reasons to add a tool on top of the native app.

Sneakers · Google Shopping · 900 SKUs · one country

Variant titles instead of the storefront title

Before

Air Zoom Pegasus 41

After

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41 Men's Running Shoe, Blue, US 10

How we set it up

We create a Google Shopping feed and map title as an advanced rule: [product_vendor] + " " + [product_title] + " " + [product_productType] + ", " + [variant_color] + ", US " + [variant_size], with the product type set to Men's Running Shoe (advanced expressions name Shopify fields with underscores). The native app cannot build this; every paid app in the table can.

Home textiles · Google Shopping + Meta + Pinterest · 2,400 SKUs · Shopify Markets DE and NL

One Shopify source, five feeds, two languages

Before

English titles only in the Google & YouTube app; Meta and Pinterest set up separately with their own syncs.

After

Five feeds from one shop: Google EN, Google DE, Meta EN, Meta DE, Pinterest EN. German titles come from an AI config (100–150 characters, key facts first), accepted in review.

How we set it up

We connect the Shopify store with its markets and locales and set up an enhance-title AI config translated into German; the generations are reviewed and accepted. Google Shopping, Meta and Pinterest feeds map title with replace from AI config, falling back to the Shopify title.

Supplements · Google Shopping · 300 SKUs · frequent disapprovals

The job is fixing Merchant Center errors, so Textfinity is the wrong pick

Before

Forty products disapproved for policy and missing GTIN; the owner wants to see and fix them in one place.

After

An app that imports Merchant Center diagnostics with suggested fixes. Simprosys lists error validation; Nabu lists AI suggestions and a feed health score.

How we set it up

Textfinity's feed hygiene profile (completeness, URL validation, length over 150 characters) catches many causes before upload, but it does not read disapprovals from Merchant Center. For this store the honest recommendation is one of the two apps that do.

Pick an app in an afternoon

Five steps, all possible with your real store before you commit to a tool.

  1. 01

List the jobs the native app cannot do for you

Write down the specific rule, channel or language you need. 'Better titles' is not a job; 'titles as Brand + Product + Color + Size' is.

  2. 02

Connect the store and look at what the tool pulled

Check that variants, metafields, markets and locales arrived. If a tool only sees the default locale, multi-country feeds will be manual.

What we set up: We connect your store and go through the pulled attributes per product with you in the product explorer.
  3. 03

Build the Google Shopping feed and write your rules

Use the channel template so Google's attribute spelling is already there, then write the title rule and the exclusions from step one.

What we set up: We create the feed from the Google Shopping template, map title as a combine, and add an exclude filter where variant.inventoryQuantity is less or equal to 0.
  4. 04

Add the feed in Merchant Center

Shopify apps push through their own connection; a feed tool's URL is added as a scheduled data source. Then check the Needs attention tab in Merchant Center yourself; this part happens outside the tool.

What we set up: We add the feed URL to your Merchant Center with access you give us, or walk you through it on a call.
  5. 05

Price it at next year's product count

Simprosys tiers step at 500, 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 products; DataFeedWatch at 1,000 SKUs with a $5 fee per extra thousand; Textfinity quotes per catalog, so give it next year's count too. Pick the tier you will be on in twelve months.

Customization tips

Make it yours

Keep the native app installed even if you add a feed tool

It handles the Merchant Center and Google Ads account linking that Shopify expects. Add the feed tool's output as a separate primary data source and compare the two in Merchant Center before switching campaigns to the new one.

Count feeds per market, not per channel

A store selling in three countries on Google and Meta needs six feeds. Simprosys bills extra market feeds per month after three; a Textfinity quote counts the feeds you need. The cheaper tool depends on your market count.

Decide where disapprovals get fixed

If you want them inside the app, Textfinity is out and Simprosys or Nabu are in. If you are comfortable reading Merchant Center's Needs attention tab and fixing the rule upstream, Textfinity's pre-upload hygiene profile is enough.

Check how AI copy is billed before turning it on

Simprosys lists AI feed optimization at $1 per 25 products as a one-time charge; Nabu bundles AI credits per month by plan; Textfinity includes AI configs in the setup, with every generation reviewed before use. For a catalog regenerated when products change, monthly bundles are easier to predict.

FAQ

Questions about best google shopping feed app shopify

What is the best Google Shopping feed app for Shopify?

It depends on the job. For a clean one-country catalog the free Google & YouTube app by Shopify is enough. For feed rules on a budget, Simprosys starts at $4.99 a month for 500 products. For rules across many channels set up for you, Textfinity is quoted per catalog. For fixing Merchant Center errors inside the app, Simprosys and Nabu list that feature; Textfinity does not. For large agency setups, DataFeedWatch's Agency plan covers 150 feeds.

Is the Shopify Google & YouTube app enough for Google Shopping?

Often, yes. It syncs products, deals and shipping to Merchant Center for free. You need a separate feed tool when you want titles built from several fields, products excluded by rule, custom labels, feeds for other channels, or titles in another language.

Can I use a feed tool that is not a Shopify app?

Yes. Textfinity, for example, connects to Shopify through its native connection, pulls products, variants, metafields, markets and locales, and publishes feeds on URLs that Merchant Center and other channels fetch on a schedule. You lose the embedded admin screen and gain one rules engine for every channel.

Do these apps fix Google Merchant Center disapprovals?

Simprosys lists error validation and Nabu lists AI suggestions with a feed health score; DataFeedWatch lists automatic feed review. Textfinity does not read diagnostics from Merchant Center; it profiles the feed for missing values, over-length titles and bad URLs before upload, and you check disapprovals in Merchant Center.
